NIKE!!

Nike Dri-FIT Knit Short-Sleeve Men's Running ShirtIn Atlanta we are lucky enough to have a Nike Running store. I went there this weekend to check out some of the new running gear Nike has. I got a new dri-fit running shirt Nike has, some new Nike 2 in 1 laser shorts, and a new Nike running jacket. I have to say Nike definitely took it up a notch with this shirt. It is so light that it almost acts like a second skin. It's tight around the upper body and lose around the waist. The shorts are great also. These shorts are lighter than all other running shorts I have tried. Nike is miles past the competition.

While I was there I saw some of the new flyknit shoes Nike has. The shoes are awesome! I wish they would have been available when I purchased my New Balances. I am not sure what kind of thread the flyknit material is made of, but it looks like some high quality material. Maybe I will need some new shoes in a year or so, but I am sure by then Nike will have the next best thing out.

As far as running is concerned, I didn't get much in last week. We had some real crappy weather last week. It was raining so I just went to the gym for a few days, and did the EFX for an hour. My mom was in town over the weekend, so I didn't get much running in then either. I ran 4.35 miles yesterday, which was my longest so far. I felt really good on the run, but I am paying for it today. Hopefully I can get in a couple miles today.

Cochran Shoals Day 3

Today was my 3rd day running at Cochran Shoals. I have decided that it is my new running spot. Today I even found a short cut to get there. I no longer have to dodge traffic or pay $3 to park. Since today was Sunny and Saturday, it was very crowded. There were a lot of kids on bikes that almost crashed into me a few times. I decided to veer off the main trail, and take some of the other paths, that were less crowded. The paths were a little muddy because of the rain recently, but I will take muddy over being hit by a bike. I was able to run for 4 miles today. It was my longest run, and my New Balance 880V2's are holding up great. I am working on trying to get my miles up, and lowering my pace at the same time. I am also trying to make sure I don't over do it. I am new to running so I have been trying to read some articles  in order to figure out a good plan. I am going to start with running 4 times a week, and go from there.

Cochran Shoals and New Kicks

I just recently purchased some new running shoes to start my training. I went to the Big Peach Running store in Atlanta. They put me through a shoe fitting process, and were able to give me some choices. I eventually chose the New Balance 880V2. They were a big help, and I walked out feeling like I had the right running shoe.

Today I decided to test out my new shoes for the first time. I also wanted to check out this trail along the Chattahoochee. The name of the trail is Cochran Shoals trail. I went there today for a nice 3.66 mile run. The shoes were great! I was only going to run for a couple miles to break them in, but they felt good so I kept running. The trail was really nice. It is right along the Chattahoochee. It is a wide trail so it allows people to go at all different speeds, with plenty of room. There are other smaller trails that veered off the main trail. I didn't get a chance to check those out today, but I will soon. Tomorrow is supposed to be another nice day, so I am planning on heading back!
